About Room Booking at Woodhouse Community Centre
We have a number of rooms available to hire for meetings, conferences, and training.
Our beautiful red brick Victorian building is close to the city centre and local public transport links. We are close to main bus routes on nearby Otley Road, and there are three Beryl bike stands close by.
By booking with us you are supporting our aim to create empowered, connected communities, where people work together to tackle the problems they face.

Our rooms
Ground Floor
| Main Hall A large open space for conferences, training events, large classes or conferences. Size: 10m wide, 11m long – 110m square Maximum Capacity: 60 (Theatre Style) Booking rates: £26 – £34.50 hour | John Ward Room – Cosy meeting room A compact room providing comfortable space for small meetings, group activities or consultations. High-level South-facing windows give natural light, but with a feeling of privacy. This room opens onto the corridor outside the main hall, making it a convenient break-out space for larger events in the Hall. Size: 4m x 4m, 16 square metres Max Capacity 15 (Theatre Style), 8-10 for meetings Booking rates: £13.50 – £18 per hour |
| Doreen Tinker Room A bright ground-floor space with large windows providing natural light, with the option of opening a serving hatch through to the full-size kitchen next door. The Doreen Tinker room makes a great classroom, meeting room or activity room, and can be a convenient space for serving food and drinks prepared in the kitchen if desired. 6.3m long, 5.5 wide = 35 square metres Maximum Capacity 30 Booking rates: £18.50 – £25 per hour | Kitchen Equipment includes a six ring electric conductor hob and large oven unit, large fridge, double stainless steel sink unit, stainless steel work surface and a full set of crockery. It is possible to open a serving hatch through to the adjoining Doreen Tinker room, or to keep the hatch closed and use the kitchen separately. 3.7m long, 3.5m wide = 13 square metres Capacity: 2-3 Booking rates: £15.00 – £20 per hour |
Upstairs Rooms
Individual toilets and a small kitchenette are available on the first floor, all accessible by lift.
All rooms have an intercom directly connected to the front door.
| Tom Maguire Room A small office, suitable for a creative business, small training room, or meetings. The room has beautiful original features including heritage windows giving views of the local area. Storage and a sink. Available to hire long-term as an office with attached storage space for an additional fee, depending on your requirements. 4.6m wide, 3.8m long, 17.5 square metres Max Capacity 15 (Theatre style), 4 (as an office) Booking rates: £13.50 – £18 per hour | Usha Kaur The Ushawant Kaur room is a large versatile first-floor space, accessible by lift and lit by south-facing windows. This multi-use room is suitable for classes, activity sessions, training sessions, or larger meetings. 7m long, 5.25 wide, 36.75 square metres Maximum capacity: 25 (Theatre Style) Room booking rates: £18.50 – £25 per hour |
Reduced rates
Non-profit making groups running events that benefit the community, and are open to all at no cost, can benefit from a reduced rate. These are not available to political parties, religious groups, or statutory organisations.
Standards rates apply to all other groups and individuals.
Weekend & evening bookings
Please note that bookings on weekends, bank holidays & evenings (after 5pm) are also subject to a £5 per hour charge to help cover the cost of staff support.
There is a minimum £50 charge for any out-of-hours booking.
